I've checked BIOS with it plugged in, and the Motherboard doesn't even recognise anything is plugged into the socket. I've reset the computer, I've even turned it off then pulled out the power cable entirely. I've checked device manager, sound manager, neither have any indication that it's there. However, the USB soundcard was detected for about 5 minutes, and then all of a sudden it disappeared, never to return. The headset works fine itself, and I assume the mic does (I don't have a 4-pole splitter to test it on my computer, and my motherboard/case doesn't seem to have a TRRS input). My problem is that this USB connection worked for all of about 5 minutes, then failed. The idea then is that it doesn't use drivers, since the USB sound card does all the work, you just need to enable it in the "Manage my sound" settings. My motherboard is the MSI Z97 Gaming 5, my OS is Windows 8.1 Professional.įor those unfamiliar with the Cloud II, it has an external USB soundcard that the 1 metre long, 3.5mm 4 pole (or TRRS) audio jack from the headset plugs in to, which then plugs into a USB slot. Bought a pair for Kingston HyperX Cloud II's yesterday to use on my newly built system. Not an answer sadly, but I'm having a similar problem.
